The trade-off (and how to handle it)
We use short-wave infrared because it sinks deep into the glass, which is exactly what you need for fast annealing. But here’s the catch: that kind of power generates a lot of heat. If your airflow is sluggish, you risk cooking your control electronics. Just make sure your cooling fans and heat sinks are beefy enough to handle the temperature spike around the housing. It’s a small detail, but a big deal.
