Heat rises, and in a bathroom, that just means you’re warming up the drywall while you’re still shivering. That’s why we’ve been moving toward waterproof infrared heaters. It’s a completely different way of thinking about warmth. It’s all about how the heat hits you Think of it like the sun. Infrared doesn’t bother wasting time heating up all the air in the room. Instead, it sends out waves that hit your skin or the floor and turn into heat right there. If you’ve got high ceilings or a big, open bathroom, this is the only way to actually feel warm the second you step out of the shower. You don’t have to crank the thermostat until the room feels like a sauna just to stop the chills. Dealing with the steam Bathrooms are basically torture chambers for electronics. Between the steam and the occasional splash, standard lamps just can’t keep up. The filaments corrode, or worse, they short out. We make sure these units have high IP ratings—which is just a fancy way of saying they’re tightly sealed. We use reinforced gaskets and sealed glass so moisture can’t sneak in and fry the electrical terminals. If that seal isn’t perfect, the unit is toast. Simple as that. You have to actually map out where people stand and move so the heat hits them where it counts. One last tip: we use high-wattage elements to punch through the humidity. That means your wiring has to be solid. Don’t try to rig this up with old, thin wires from thirty years ago, or you’ll be tripping your breaker every single morning.
