We built this heater around a 400V halogen lamp setup because we wanted serious heat in a small space. The 300mm tube keeps that heat focused where you need it, and the 2500W output means it warms up fast and then just keeps going. Running on 400V also makes life easier. It pulls less current than lower-voltage options, so you get more heating power per amp and wiring that’s simpler to plan and run in a plant.
The Build: Simple, Tough, Thoughtful
The halogen element sits inside a quartz tube, and there’s a reason for that. Quartz handles high temps without flinching and shrugs off thermal shock. A protective coating on the tube shields the element and helps keep output steady, even after long stretches of use. Swapping the lamp out is no hassle, either. The R7s connector is a proven, industrial-grade fit, so it’s a straight drop-in replacement. Meanwhile, the built-in fan pulls air across the hot tube, which boosts heat transfer and prevents hot spots from forming.
Where It Shines—And What to Keep in Mind
This setup is perfect when you need intense, localized heat—think preheating plastic, activating adhesives, or hitting drying stages. That 2500W punch means you get immediate response, but it also means more heat radiates into the surroundings. So plan for good airflow and cooling around the enclosure to keep everything running in the right temperature range. It’s a workhorse by design: tough, straightforward to wire, and built to deliver reliable performance, day after day, without skipping a beat.
